Description

That Which Spawned From That Which Spawned From The Scion of The Shepherds' Yellow Patron, or 'Hastur', 'Honey' to friends, is a Mimikyu notable for their unusual choice of costume. Likely due to their proximity to a number of farming communities, Hastur has chosen to style their disguise after that of a Mareep, as opposed to a Pikachu or another similarly popular critter. Their costume consists of an upside-down colander inscribed with a multitude of symbols (designed for the safety of those with weaker minds) covered in a T-shirt which is in turn stitched to cotton balls and old fleece. The face is formed out of an old gas mask, and the tail is a modified drain cleaner with a tennis ball stuck on the end. The end result is much heavier than the conventional Mimikyu disguise, but more difficult to tip over. The inside of the colander also has sufficient room for a crude repair kit and a spare disguise for Hastur to wear during repair work.

Hastur has difficulty speaking in sentences longer than two words, and each word comes out devoid of tone or inflection, and with an ethereal reverb. They do not shout, but their voice can be laced with psychic power to create a wave of will that can stop even the largest creatures in their tracks, if only for a moment.

Notable Abilities

Hastur's origin as an Outsider bequeaths them many abilities. For travel, Hastur can rip a hole in spacetime large enough to accommodate a human and allow movement between worlds. This is, however, incredibly dangerous. Mortal minds cannot comprehend that which is outside reality, and any who wish to walk inside the rips Hastur generates best wear a blindfold and come with escort. Even then, when they stumble out the other side, they are often disturbed by the experience. Worse still, the rips can take ages to heal, and Things That Should Not Be could stumble in through the tear. It is thus only used in an absolute emergency.

Slightly more utilitarian is the Intellectus, a limited omniscience that has absolute knowledge over all physicality, which can predict the future based on said absolute knowledge. The Intellectus is, however, tricky to use: You must know what you want to know, and you must ask it what you wish to know using only absolute physical objects for reference. For instance, Intellectus does not comprehend what a 'mile' is, because a mile is not a physical object or a trait inherent to any object. Nor can you ask for the temperature in Celsius, nor the distance between 'here' and another place as 'here' can mean anything from the exact point you are standing, up to the country, planet or even galaxy you currently inhabit. The predictive models created by Intellectus also fall apart if you attempt to ask questions about your own actions, as the knowledge you would gain from the future would inevitably change it.

Finally, like all Mimikyu, Hastur is afflicted with the curse: All who gaze upon their bare, undisguised form are doomed to die, be it now or soon, depending on the strength of their mind. Hastur, understandably, doesn't use this one often.

Biography

Hastur was found by Mary and Cinnamon early into their journey on the outskirts of an abandoned town. Who they were, what they have been doing, and where they came from are all unknown, and Hastur isn't telling.

Personality

If being a nonbinary creature confined to the inside of a costume and commonly feared by the public isn't enough, Hastur is also firmly on the spectrum. They are stressed by crowds and especially large crowds, are terminally incapable of understanding metaphoric language, selectively mute, suffer from mild OCD, and have terminal self-esteem issues among other things. Plus, they are introverted as hell. Despite all this, they still crave companionship, and often seek to get in other's good graces through gift-giving, and frequent favors. They can't carry much of a conversation alone, and will freeze up if made the center of attention, but love being amongst the peers and being included in conversation. Occasionally. With breaks and a quiet place to retreat and rest.

Relationships

Hastur is a creature of absolutes: Either you're their friend, in which case they will fight for you, watch after you, and keep you safe at all costs; or you're their enemy, in which case they will avoid you until they have to fight you, at which point they tend seek the fastest end to the conflict be that running away or threats or even fighting. For all others, they will try to please others when working with them, but otherwise ignore or avoid them.

Their friends are Cinnamon, Sugar, Mary, Truffles, and more recently Omen. Their enemies include anyone who would threaten their friends.

Sexuality

If you think its a good idea to try breeding with a ghost/fairy creature with a deadly curse named Hastur, then you are either a fool, an adrenaline junkie, or haven't read much Lovecraft. That said, Hastur can breed, but those who breed with them often come back...changed...
