Description
Sean 'Bae' Cody is the deuteragonist of Coda's stories and a constant instigator of drama at Cafe Plaisir. This eccentric Simipour runs the Caramel Carnivale, a Louisiana strip club rivalling Cafe Plaisir, and he delights in leaving chaos and confusion in his wake. Bae tears through life like a coke-addled, sex-addicted Rob Zombie, constantly orchestrating schemes and plots that let him skirt the line between 'party boy' and 'domestic terrorist'. Beyond his frat boy exterior, Bae is a high-functioning sociopath who uses a smokescreen of glitter to get whatever he wants.
Bae goes out of his way to hire people in bad situations, including Thomas and Karma, before recommending them to Cafe Plaisir. He and Jack have a terse friendship, and he has recently been trying to expand his brand of candy-coated influence towards the Fleur du Flamme as well. He's become close friends with Margrave and developed feelings for him, something he is still struggling with. Not that he has the chance to focus on relationships! Ever since an alien portal opened above the Carnivale, the chaos in Bae's life has amped up even further. Bae has since become the main liaison between Ultra Space and the rest of the world.
Bae genuinely cares about helping others, but at the same time, he's a danger to those around him. At least he pulls it all off with a smile.
Sexuality
Bae's boundless libido cannot be emphasized enough. He has a wellspring of energy that lets him fuck and cum pretty much indefinitely, and he'd spend all his free time doing that if he was able. Gender, species and position don't matter to him as much as having fun and getting his partner's rocks off! He's boundlessly kinky, and it's easier to ask what he hasn't tried than what he has. Age is pretty much the Simipour's only limit, and he delights in trying new things, having developed a truckload of fetishes in the process. He has a particular love for switching, gangbangs, orgies and sex toys, along with a more shameful craving for pits and feet. Bae loves having sex whenever and with whoever he can, and he likes ending every day with his ass destroyed and balls drained.
History
Early Life
Born Simon Coleridge, Bae was raised in a wealthy Connecticut suburb. Both his parents were mathematicians; his mother had just retired after a long tenure at the University of California. His father transferred into data analytics and began working for technology companies, helping build the framework of what would later become targeted online advertising. His parents were very strict on him and his two siblings, and enrolled them in private school, where Bae was the only one who did not excel. Bae started growing more and more disillusioned with academics, as well as the idea of 'high-class society' as a whole, finding gentrification to be exploitative and finding that even the people at the top were still unhappy. Bae could never meet his parent's expectations, and he resented becoming like them, believing that they had lost track of their emotions because of their desire to stay 'on top'.
The young Simipour rebelled against his parents, slipping in school and spending more of his time at parties and frat houses. At his parent's insistence, he crammed mercilessly for the SATs and excelled at them, getting into a preferred Connecticut college. Bae found the school filled with ingenuine go-getters just like his parents, and he hated it there, dropping out of college after only two months. In the years prior, he had been getting into worse and worse arguments with his family, and his parents considered this the last straw. They kicked him out of the house, and, as he was of legal age, cut ties with him.
Separated from his family, Bae embraced his rebellious persona, taking on a fake name (Sean Cody) and a nickname (Bae). The latter eventually stuck. Seeking to distance himself even further, Bae adapted a faux-Southern accent and left Connecticut, couch-surfing between the houses of his high school friends and their acquaintances. He started drinking heavily, realizing that if people saw him as a frat boy, they would never expect him to be anything else. This seemed to work for a time, the only problem being that Bae could never hold a steady job - few places wanted to employ him for anything other than manual labor, and new employers were quick to throw their newest worker under the bus. Bae ended up in debt, unable to afford rent, and was eventually thrown out on the street.
Homelessness
Bae spent two years as a homeless drifter. He traveled from city to city, swapping between hostels, trying to find some place to settle down, but nothing worked. He saw friends die from gang warfare, drug abuse and alcoholism. Feeling like he'd hit rock bottom, Bae cultivated a deep, burning hatred, cursing all of those who hadn't helped him and who had tried to kick him while he was down. If no one was going to help him, he believed, he had to claw his way back up.
It was in this state that Bae encountered TM, still active as the serial killer named Toymaker. Bae was being mugged by a group of Dark Strays; TM killed them on the spot. TM was fascinated by Bae, as the Simipour wasn't afraid and even started a conversation with him. The pair ended up talking at length about their hopes, fears and insecurities, where Bae cursed his inadequacy and vowed to create a better life for himself and people like him. The pair bonded over their shared anger towards society, and Bae suggested that TM find another outlet for his pent-up frustrations, encouraging the Zoroark to start doing BDSM. This worked, and the pair became life-long friends.
One thing was for certain - the pair needed a place to stay, a roof over their heads where they could also make money. With TM's violence and Bae's personal magnetism, they set out looking for the right spot. They eventually found what they needed - a run-down nightclub in Marksville, Louisiana. Joined by Bae's homeless friend Seymour, and Miriam, the daughter of the mayor of Marksville, the pair started rebuilding the club into a place they could call home.
Caramel Carnivale
With the help of TM, Seymour and Miriam, Bae essentially strong-armed his way into taking control of the club. The run-down building had been used as a front for the local mafia, before TM made short work of them. Straight away, Bae set about renovating the club and making it a proper tourist attraction, hosting strip shows and nightly entertainment. Bae got into contact with Jack, who he'd befriended years prior, and took his advice on how to build the club - renamed the Caramel Carnivale - into a legitimate establishment. Bae became the day manager, running the bar, stripping and encouraging sex between patrons and staff, while TM acted as the night manager and ran a BDSM dungeon in the basement. Bae also started hiring, keeping his own wages low in favor of treating his workers well, and he reached out to anyone who was also downtrodden by society or otherwise in a shitty situation. As the Carnivale expanded, he hired Thomas and Karma, both of whom would become mainstays of the club.
Things changed when a small portal to Ultra Space spat out a Nihilego called Quimper, who Bae befriended on the spot and hired. Quimper was kind, inquisitive and curious, but the Nihilego was also a sign of things to come.
As the Carnivale flourished, Bae developed a reputation for his eccentric behavior, pulling stunts wherever possible. His club was a never-ending party, full of light, sex and loud music, and customers were sure to go home feeling as overwhelmed as they were rewarded. Bae also gave the Carnivale entry passes and yearly memberships (quite like the payment schemes used by aquariums), which more than doubled his income and let him give his workers good wages. After years of struggling, it felt like everything in Bae's life was going right, which is why the universe decided to open an alien hell portal over his roof.
Ultra Space Incursion
The Carnivale became a subject of global intrigue when an Ultra Space portal, larger than any recorded, burst open in the sky above the building. The massive, swirling vortex crackled with reddish-green fire and spat out squishy gobs of color-changing flesh, along with a flurry of Nihilego and other, scattered Ultra Beasts. It was a perpetual hurricane at the Carnivale's doorstop, dispensing aliens like candy and sending them out into the world. Bae, naturally, threw himself into the fray. He offered sanctuary (and employment) to any Ultra Beast who wanted it, and offered to acquaint them with the new world they found themselves in. The Carnivale's reputation as a tourist attraction skyrocketed, as new guests began flocking in from all across the U.S. to see the beasts, the club, and its eccentric owner. After a brief conflict involving Svetlana and the Russian foreign intelligence service, things calmed down, and Bae was appointed as Ultra Space's unofficial liaison due to his years' worth of experience with the creatures. With a host of new friends, and all the money he could ask for, Bae went completely balls to the wall with his adventures.
Further Adventures
Ever since the Ultra Space incursion, Bae has:
- Gotten into a rap battle with Eclipse before jumping off a building,
- Stolen an industry standard shrimp trawl net,
- Been tangentially involved in multiple gang-land killings, invoking the ire of both the Sigilyph Cartel and the Dark Strays,
- Met actor Matt Smith after breaking onto the set of Morbius II,
- Thrown rocks at a Darkrai,
- Become an enemy of the military-industrial complex,
- Fallen in love with Margrave,
- and received the Guinness World Record for the largest indoor orgy.
Finished? As far as Bae knows, he's just starting.
