Origins

Thomas grew up in the outskirts of Coimbra, Portugal, and spent his early life with his mother (Svetlana), father (David), and younger brother (Malcolm). His main interests were learning English (so he could better understand the picture books and comics he loved to read), and taking part in traditional folk-dances with his friends and family. At a young age, Thomas learned that his mother was a spy working for the Russian foreign intelligence service (SVR), and this caused considerable tension in the family, to the point where his parents separated at the tail end of his elementary school years. He still spent quite a bit of time with his mother, but their relationship gradually became strained as the years went by. Svetlana could be shameless, calculating, manipulative and cruel when it suited her, using others to collect information for her work. She wanted Thomas to follow in her footsteps, but Thomas felt disgusted by her actions and wanted no part in a life like that. With only a high school diploma under his belt, Thomas set off for America the first chance he had.

Caramel Carnivale

Fresh off the boat and dead broke, Thomas found himself hopping from job to job before finally finding a stable one at the Caramel Carnivale, a well-known nightclub in Marksville, Louisiana. He was taken in by Bae, the Carnivale's eccentric manager, and waited tables before finally being encouraged to dance on-stage. Thomas loved it, finding confidence through dance and the praise he was showered with after strutting his stuff on-stage. Bae strongly emphasized the role of performance in a nightly stripshow, putting on the best spectacle the audience could see, and Thomas took those words to heart. He trained his skills and showmanship, gradually working his way up the ranks to become one of the Carnivale's most prolific and popular dancers. For the first time, Thomas found a place where he felt truly comfortable expressing himself... at least, until he was evicted.

Café Plaisir

When Thomas' apartment building was renovated, he and many other tenants were evicted, and he suddenly found that he could no longer afford rent in the city. Thomas spoke to Bae, and Bae recommended that he travel across the country to work at his friend Jack's establishment, Café Plaisir. Thomas made the trip and was hired, starting out as a floor waiter with the intention of working in Captivate - or, really, anywhere a stripper's pole could be used. In his introduction to Plaisir, Thomas befriended Nicolaus (then Plaisir's digital media manager), and developed a rapport that would eventually end up with the two of them as roommates. Back at the Carnivale, however, a portal had opened up to Ultra Space - and that's when the shit completely hit the fan.
