The Lounge is a public space on the north end of the function block. It continues seamlessly from the hallway that loops around the south and west sides of Captivate. Immediately to its west is The Special Lounge, with which it shares a wall.

Along with the Main Bar, the Lounge is one of the only public locations in Café Plaisir where guest and waiter conduct is generally expected to remain tame. In this case, unlike the Main Bar (which has to remain open to all guests regardless of their purpose), the Lounge is so distinguished because there is a room immediately next door — The Special Lounge — for more explicit activities.

Description

The Lounge is a large, curving, open-plan room. It is very brightly lit in the daytime, with a full wall of floor-to-ceiling windows facing The Gardens, separated by regular columns. There is also a regular grid of large skylights, so that the ceiling is covered by as much glass as paint. Along the north of the lounge, there is an array of couches, chairs, cushions and low tables, with freestanding lamps at each cluster of furniture. On the west, there is a bar counter with several stools. The north and east walls of the room both have doors to the Gardens, with the east opening to a glass-roofed walkway to the bedroom block.

There are also two staff-only doorways: a hidden door from Captivate across the hallway carpeting from the seating clusters, and a doorway to the inner service hallway in the southeast corner.
