As the hour of need approaches, Nicolaus discovers that he has jumped in way over his head. Even with Jack and Firenze both at his sides, there is no relief to be found. Except for the usual kind, which doesn't solve the new problems Nicolaus has gotten into.
How will he get through this one? Niceness isn't going to be enough. There's no doubt about it: Nicolaus is in the big leagues now, and he has to learn on the fly.
