There's a certain atmosphere with some mornings. Maybe you folks have experienced it. It's after a party - you're at your place, or maybe someone else's. You wake up, adjusting to surroundings that are unfamiliar (or very familiar, but feeling a little different nonetheless), and swing your legs over the side of the mattress - being as careful as possible not to disturb anyone, if you're indeed lucky enough...
And you wander downstairs, only to find - someone else. Owner of the house? Fellow partygoer? Who knows. They sit there, on their phone, and before you know it the silence is broken.
But not, as it was last night, by a whirlwind of music, films, cookery and laughter. The raucousness has been and gone in a sea of alcohol-lubricated good times, and now the aftermath is like the sea after a storm - quiet, calm, its energy expended. No, the silence here is broken only by idle chatter - quiet, calm, and from the heart.
