An older Glaceon, Clarice has an overweight build and thick, wide-rimmed glasses with which she can just about see the spreadsheets filling her antiquated PC's screen. Contrasting this image, her paws will dance with incredible grace, using a human keyboard where most quadrupeds need a specialist device. Skating over the data, Clarice's grasp of cold, hard numbers has kept the Café on solid financial ground for years. She is a talented accountant, but where she lacks is in empathy.

It's said Clarice contains a simmering hatred for all lifeforms, or as she puts it herself, "the filthy, disgusting heat," that exists outside of her artic-cold, climate-controlled office. This is often used to advantage in the climate of Café Plaisir, where many managerial staff will prove soft and sympathetic - especially often having been intimate with the employees in question - Clarice has no such weakness, proving hard-hearted often (unfortunately) to the point of cruelty. (But often, someone has to be.)

She may have major psychological and physiological problems, but she isn't prepared to discuss either. The threat of dealing with her is often enough to keep the more combative staff members in line - though she regularly comes into conflict with the staff, and occasionally the patrons, of Café Plaisir. [[Coco]], [[Nicolaus]] and [[Maggy]] are some of the only people she has a decent working relationship with, as well as [[Firenze]] and [[Jack]], who see the best in her.

Clarice is effectively asexual as far as the Café is concerned, showing no interest or desire in sex or sexuality.

Nightshade is a bit of a dick. The hollow star shapes that his markings naturally form resemble Nightshade leaves, from which he takes his name, but it is his personality which is by far the most toxic thing about him.

When this particularly-large Liepard joined Plaisir, he expected immediately to become the baddest of the bad, the most respected and the most feared as well as the most admired for his distinctive appearance. When he turned out to be less scary than [[Eclipse]] and less glamorous than [[Firenze]] he did the only reasonable thing a narcissistic sadist could do and immedaitely started taking it out on customers, colleages and anyone else unfortunate enough to get under his claws.

He has an unhealthy co-dependant relationship with [[Hemlock]], whose extreme masochism is complimented quite unfortunately by Nightshade's constant, deliberate and indulgeant cruelty. Attributes that Hemlock turns out to be quite protective over, only too happy to feed the feline's ego if it results in more harsh treatment for Hemlock. And given that Nightshade is the all-too-proud owner of a huge, barbed feline penis, even the most casual of cruelty tends to be quite an experience for the masochistic. The few customers he manages not to repel do turn out to be quite loyal in a similar vein, as he attracts and maintains a stable of masochistic regulars who are only too happy to be used, scratched and demeaned by a powerful, heartless and egotistical big cat. The less charitable would describe him as the back-up Eclipse, taking the Mightyena's leftovers, but his own well-fed ego could never accept that.

Constantly scheming to improve his status, usually at the expense of another, Nightshade could be considered a threat; If only his own arrogance and inability to admit fault would allow him the ability to succeed at anything. As such, he tends to fall into the role of comedically evil yet ineffective villain.

Nightshade had several cameo appearances in [[October's Jaunt]] and some side series such as the Hentai Kyuubi 1k shorts, where he had his own vignette, but didn't get any serious roles until Year of October's Bite Club series, where he takes the role of primary antagonist. Chai is a yellow-ringed Umbreon who works as a [[Waiter|Floor Waiter]] at [[Café Plaisir]]. Quiet, sullen and as sharp as he is prickly, many find the Umbreon unpleasant and unapproachable. Originally assigned to the Morning Shift as he wasn't expected to last long, Chai has grown both physically and a a professional Waiter at Café Plaisir, having recently joined the new Swing Shift.

He is attractive and sexually gifted, highly flexible in the bedroom and boasts great endurance. At first glance it would be difficult to see why he doesn't get a lot of business. But then you try talking to him and it becomes very obvious. Chai is rude, judgemental and impatient, owing largely to a troubled background beginning with a difficult start in life as a stray Eevee on the streets of America, which he ultimately survived with a combination of street prostitution and by later becoming part of a dangerous gang known as the [[Dark Strays]].

He escaped his former life and came to Café Plaisir to find a new start. A start which has proven more difficult than he first imagined. But thanks in part to [[Mister Pouncer]], the [[Morning Shift]] Manager who wouldn't give up on him as long as he was willing to keep trying, the influence of a very small number of friends (who he's only now learning to appreciate) and in no small part his own stubborness, he is gradually turning his life around and learning to become a better person.

He is still a pain in the ass. Euphemistically AND metaphorically.

===First Appearance===

Chai first appears in Chapter 2 of [[October's Jaunt]]. A small and terse Umbreon, he is the only other Floor Waiter on the Morning Shift and has next to no professional or personal life before the tumbling fireball of [[October]] comes crashing through. Chai takes quickly to his new co-worker and the two soon become fast friends and firm fuckbuddies (with the Umbreon firmly in the bratty submissive role.) When Chai loses his room due to underperformance, October offers him a space on his bed. Though it's not long before the two difficult personalities start to conflict and the newfound friendship is quickly threatened...

===Further Appearances===

Chai is taken along on the Café Plaisir Road Trip less as an elite member of staff and more as reclamation project by Firenze. He quickly proves himself an essential member of the team, however, due in no small part with his familiarity with the American Pokemon underworld in general and the Dark Strays gang in particular, who as a gang of Dark-type Pokemon immune to the psychic type scrying and crime predictors now employed by the FBI in the post-Liberation USA, have risen to increasing prominence.

Described by Eeveelution Breeding Specialist 'Bob' as a mongrel-mix of Kanto Regular and Thompson's Warhound (but lacking the bone plates,) his genes manifested as a major growth spurt during the Road Trip, going from distinctly below average sized for his species to distinctly above.

He gets involved in fights often, where he relies upon his, speed, stealth and intimate knowledge of dirty fighting tactics. He has no idea how to do a Shadow Ball, but he can take down even a large opponent quickly by poking sharp claws where it hurts or even cripples them the most.

He grew up with the finest in industrial Pokemon rearing, training and education in Cell D of the Masterson's Breeding Facility in Texas. Having elected to specialise in domestic education, Colin was surgically and permanently declawed.

He discovered his post-Liberation civil rights thanks to a former Masterson's Umbreon on an external daycare visit and declared for emancipation before he could be sold. Quickly exiled from the Masterson's compound, he worked at a travelling rodeo for long enough to make enough money to travel to the just-established Café Plaisir, where he remains to this day.

There is more to his tale and more to the Sylveon than his petite, polite and prissy exterior might reveal, but finding out about that would take a rare dark night of his Fairy-bright soul... or a lot of bourbon.

Colin is pansexual, with a strong emphasis on pleasing his partner whomever that may be and whatever they might prefer. Though he dislikes rude manners and any kind of dirtiness or messiness.

He has a preference for males and the submissive role, as being used for someone's pleasure makes him very happy in turn, even if his partner is very rough (though he is likely to make subtle use of Draining Kiss in order to withstand the roughest treatment.) He is demonstrably extremely capable in this role, having made his debut taking Prometheus, knot and all. Something considered impossible by many larger Pokemon.

Lexi's big bro that spends more time at the gym than at home. He's big, he's a bro, he's not that smart, he helps Dad water the crops, he's probably kicked Neon's ass in Call of Duty without realising it was her. A layer of vappy-fat hides enough muscles to make a shire horse jealous.

If you come into the Main Bar at any time on any day, there's a small chance you'll run into a roguish red-furred Ninetales on the Swing Shift, swaggering about the place with his British accent. From pointy muzzle to scruffy black mane and tailtips, he might be serving drinks, (or begging for them,) lording over the place, (or cleaning it) and getting into narrtively satisfying capers (or skulking about, getting himself into trouble.)

What isn't immediately obvious is that October is the residential Interdimensional Adventurer Dilettante. A hedonist and troublemaker, but October is known as a hero on twenty worlds.
(He's also wanted by various authorities on well over two hundred and that's not even counting the interplanetery alliances.)

October came to [[Café Plaisir]] on hearing rumours that a good time was to be had there, leading to the usual string of misunderstandings, careless troublemaking and caperish adventurism that has seen him run a burn on worlds far and wide. With quick wit and a good sense of when to make himself scarce, he's (nearly) always managed to keep ahead of authorities, particularly when his trump card is an emergency teleport out of the universe entirely.

Right up until Café Plaisir, right up until [[Firenze]]. For the first time, the consequences of his actions caught up to him. For the first time, he was made to make good on what he'd done. For the first time, he was forced to work menial jobs and settle in a single location on a single word for more than the maximum of two weeks it previously took for him to get bored with a scenario. Thus imprisoned, October began to discover what life was like for normal individuals who aren't dimension-travelling dilletantes. He even began to make friends and started to find it increasingly difficult to leave. Though to this day he's never really questioned how Firenze managed to pursue him back to his Tower...

October is unpredictable, unreliable and prone to creating chaos wherever he goes and whatever he does. He isn't tremendously powerful as a Pokemon, but his experience makes him incredibly resourceful and used to fighting at a disadvantage. Which is good for him, because his staggering pride and overconfidence as both an Adventurer and Ninetales often leads him to bite off far more than even a Ninetales can chew. Fortunately, powerful vulpine hindquarters are good for more than pouncing...

==Sexuality==

October is a male-preferred bisexual, a mostly-dominant switch with a love of rough, feral fun, with strong streaks of sadism and masochism (though he'd deny the latter. And the fact that he's a switch, despite the evidence.)

Generally preferring smaller quadrupedal ferals, he has a particular love of mounting Eeveelutions and has racked up an impressive tally. Though as with his adventuring capers, his prideful, fiery nature often gives him a tendency towards biting off more than he can chew... He has recently gotten into trouble attracting powerful Battle Pokemon who are only too happy to indulge his, "To top me you have to conquer me!" rule.

He also has an extreme weakness to other Ninetales, which he respects greatly as a pinnacle of vulpinity. Considering himself an off-coloured imitation of the species, he places them on a pedestal above himself from which they, male or female, can - and often do - easily leap upon him from and take advantage of the usually-dominant Fox. This goes double for Firenze, the huge and magnificent General Supervisor of Plaisir who was the first to bring October to heel. For Firenze, the usually fiercely-independent October will do nearly anything.

October first appeared in October's Jaunt part 1, where he first visits the Café, gets caught out trying to cheat the bar for free drinks and is caught after a minor caper with some minor damages. This leads to the rest of the Jaunt series, which can fairly be described as a series of minor-novellas covering his struggle to adapt to life at the Café as part of the quiet and dreary Morning shift performing menial labour. Learning friendship and responsibility along the way, the series culminates in a confrontation with an antagonist in the shape of [[Eclipse]], a powerful Mightyena who represents the very worst the Café has to offer...

===Further Appearances===

After Jaunt, October and several of the Café's best are taken on the road across the America of Café Plaisir's universe on the Firenze-lead series, Café Plaisir: Road Trip. Whilst taking more of a secondary role, October generally gets involved with the seedier side of society including many confrontations with his friend [[Chai]]'s former gang, the now out-of-control [[Dark Strays]]. Generally, as Firenze interacts with upper society and the lighter side of things, October takes the darker, dirtier path, dealing with danger as Firenze deals with dialogue. Elegance is a Mienshao working for the Morning Shift of Café Plaisir, serving as the only staff member in attendance at the Spa in the early morning and working as a Massuer until late afternoon. Whilst she speaks English fluently, she is Japanese by nationality and speaks with a slight accent. She never indulges in 'Special' Massages no matter how much she's offered, money seeming to be of little interest to her. Nor has she otherwise taken a customer or spent the night with another employee.

Rather than staying in the basement or in the local town with the rest of the staff, Elegance pays for a room on the middle floor of the Guest Block on a permanent basis. It is unknown how she manages to pay for this.

She seems to have some kind of interest in Colin, the sole Bedroom Waiter of her shift, but this interest is not romantic, nor do they even appear to be friends. Even so, the Mienshao never seems to let the Sylveon too far out of her sight. She refuses to reveal why, but the two clearly have some manner of history together.

Curt and brusque, Elegance comes off as cold and unfriendly to most, and certainly doesn't suffer fools gladly. She seems to have little interest in the Café's primary purpos or mission, but when push comes to shove, is always ready to defend her home as needed.

Colin is the Morning Shift's duty Bedroom Waiter, but as he's always on call and willing to serve as a Floor Waiter whenever it would be helpful (because he does so love to be helpful!) he can be seen at any time. He's always ready to greet a customer with a bright and happy smile and wants to ensure that they have a lovely time! Though he would appreciate it if you could avoid getting dirty at all...

A pretty and effeminate Sylveon holding a lofty, scientifically developed and tested Masterson's B2 Pedigree, marking him out as a high quality example of one of their middle-range (balanced between battle 'A' breed and domestic 'C' breed) Eeveelutions. He grew up with the finest in industrial Pokemon rearing, training and education in Cell D of the Masterson's Breeding Facility in Texas. Having elected to specialise in domestic education, Colin was surgically and permanently declawed.

He discovered his post-Liberation civil rights thanks to a former Masterson's Umbreon on an external daycare visit and declared for emancipation before being sold. Quickly exiled from the Masterson's compound, he made his way to the just-established Café Plaisir, where he remains to this day.

There is more to his tale and more to the Sylveon than his petite, polite and prissy exterior might reveal, but finding out about that would take a rare dark night of his Fairy-bright soul... or a lot of bourbon.

Colin is pansexual, with a strong emphasis on pleasing his partner whomever that may be and whatever they might prefer. Though he dislikes rude manners and any kind of dirtiness or messiness.

He has a preference for males and the submissive role, as being used for someone's pleasure makes him very happy in turn, even if his partner is very rough (though he is likely to make subtle use of Draining Kiss in order to withstand the roughest treatment.) He is demonstrably extremely capable in this role, having made his debut taking Prometheus, knot and all. Something considered impossible by many larger Pokemon.

After the Road Trip, October has returned to Café Plaisir and is currently embroiled in the Year of October's storyline, wherein life goes on at Café Plaisir though with many changes in the works, both personally and professionally for October and his friends and colleagues and for the business as a whole...

He has recently moved from the Morning Shift to the Swing Shift and is now a part time, peak time and emergency worker brought in as needed. As such, he is - as ever - to be found wherever there's trouble.
